Lake Chelan Wedding | Styled Shoot Part 2

We posted the first half of our Lake Chelan Wedding Styled shoot for Dress My Cupcake last week. This is the second half of the shoot! We adored these models who did an amazing job pretending to not be cold on this fridge February day on the lake! The goal for this shoot was to make cupcake wrappers look amazing of course, but we also wanted to show how they can be a great addition to the decoration on the table. We hope you get that feeling as you look through the pictures! Thank you to all the vendors who did an outstanding job making this inspired shoot come to life! We had a rock star team and I hope we all get to work again soon on another project!

Cupcakes by Cake Chic. Bridal gown and bridesmaids dress provided by Bella Sera. The venue is a private residence. Thanks to our assistant, Lynette Smith for being the catch all of jobs!

For the last shot of the day we just wanted to get everyone on the couch for a fun picture. They are all so gorgeous!

Mike and Jeanne were “just friends”. Although Mike pursued her for a long time. Longer than Jeanne probably realized. Things became more apparent after Jeanne ended up with the white elephant gift from Mike at a Christmas party. Everyone gave her a lot of flack about it and from there a relationship was born. Mike and Jeanne are strong Christians and now how sometimes the physical and overpower a relationship. They decided to wait to kiss until their wedding day. So right there, at the alter, they kissed for the first time in front of their friends and family. It was a sweet moment. We loved photographing their wedding story, starting at Calvary Chapel and ending at the Wenatchee Community Center with a sparklers grand exit! We are so happy for them and hope they love their time together in Puerto Vallarta!

You have already seen Ronnie and Jessica on the blog just a couple days ago. They won a free engagement session, including doing an outstanding job, posing for us as a bride and groom for another project. We started off the morning of the shoot with this engagement session. We walked and talked as we slushed our way around the lawn of the house. Ronnie moved to Chelan a couple of years ago for work. He works for a company who rebuilds dams and their most recent place is at Wells Dam. Jessica followed him from Idaho, where their love first began, in May of 2009. Ronnie proposed at Jessica’s birthday dinner and now they are getting married in September!

Dress My Cupcake is a company that manufactures cupcake wrappers for events of all kinds. They asked us to photograph their new line of wedding wrappers. Of course we jumped at the chance! Like I always joke: the best part of a wedding is the cake! I asked Lynn Tuttle of Fleur de Lis Floral and Event Design if she would like to style the shoot for me. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do, but didn’t know how to get it there. She took my very loose idea and ran with it! We love her work and are always inspired by what flows from her mind! The idea was to go more glam than what seemed to be last year’s theme of rustic and wild flowers. We still wanted to keep the integrity of what Lake Chelan is about-outdoor fun on the lake! So after we settled on a shoot on a dock we realized what would a cupcake wrapper shoot be without some extraordinary cupcakes to fill them?! I was recently introduced to Jodi Johnston of Cake Chic and after seeing (and tasting) her creations, I knew we needed her to make us cupcakes that would match the quality of Dress My Cupcake wrappers. Our real-life engaged couple, Ronnie and Jessica did an amazing job braving the cold February weather to bring our vision to life. Thank you to Stephanie Sheasly for an outstanding job with hair and make up for Jessica. After weeks of planning, everything feel into place last weekend! We also have 2 other sessions from this day, but I wanted to share this one with you first! I feel this series captured everything and hopefully showed off how these elegant cupcake wrappers can fit into your wedding day! (More to come later this week).

Elements Salon and Wellness Spa moved locations to be in the heart of Wenatchee at 116 N Wenatchee Ave! I have a yearly ritual right around my birthday where I take some time out of my crazy schedule to relax and get a facial. I have gotten my hair and nails done there in the past too, and it has always been the best experience. Honestly, something I love about this salon is that it is a no-tip salon. I love that the stylists will give you their best without the extra “fluff” to get you to give them a bigger tip. I was excited to be able to photograph their new location. If you have a chance, stop by their salon!

There are about 5 questions that get asked at every wedding. A lot of the time we are the only ones who know or are close enough for a quick answer. Over the next couple weeks I thought I would answer these questions for you with a little behind the scenes photos. The number one question: how to properly fill out the marriage license. Sign with maiden name or new name? Which signature goes where? Here Ben explains to our bride to use her maiden name and shows where to sign.

Weddings at Lake Chelan Bridal Show 2012 | Part One

Just days before the bridal show it snowed. Not just a fun little sprinkle, but all out blizzard. Seattle was shut down and all of us on the East side of the mountains were worried. After spending a better part of a year preparing for this bridal show it all came down to the one thing we couldn’t control. Thankfully the sun came out and it proved to be a gorgeous day for a drive to visit Washington’s wine country. Brides were greeted at Tsillan Cellars with something to drink and a taste of cake. After talking with some of the best wedding vendors in our area, they had the option to have a complimentary limo ride to Karma Vineyards where brides and their families & friends met with more vendors and stayed until the grand prize drawings at the end of the show. With this show. we wanted to break away from the rushed, overwhelmed, and afraid of the next vendor ready to pounce on her with information feeling of bridal shows that some have come to expect. We wanted everyone, including the vendors to feel relaxed and simply just have a fun afternoon. I personally feel this was accomplished! We had brides that talked with us for up to 10 minutes, looking at our albums only to say “oh we already have a photographer, I am just looking for fun…” I loved that they not only comfortable, but enjoyed themselves enough to stay to do that.

Here are some images from Karma Vineyards. We will do a second post from Tsillan Cellars. There were so many fun shots that it would be too long of a post to show you the full event!

What brides saw when they entered the cave at Karma Vineyards.

There were 8 different prizes! The top three prizes were worth over $6000! We also had a groom’s basket- complete with a “Kiss the Groom” apron and jerky.

Kim was the winner of our free wedding package! So excited to be shooting her Karma Vineyards wedding. Also included was a complimentary bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere from Fleur de Lis Floral & Event Design.

Karma Vinyards provided tasty appetizers for brides to munch on as they talked with vendors. Jeanne helps with the wedding planning for brides getting married at Karma.

I totally forgot to take a picture of our booth. This is the closest thing we have.

The most favorite bouquet the Lynn, of Fleur de Lis Floral and Event Design has created yet! Cabbage, cotton, roses, and a broach. So lovely and different! This, right here, is why you hire a professional!

Deb’s Delights made something I hadn’t seen yet- an upside down cake!

Deb gave away a mini candy bar for one lucky bride.

Bella Sera gave away a bridal gown! This model happens to be one of our brides who is getting married on Valentine’s Day. We are looking forward to photographing her wedding!

Bella Sera had some seriously gorgeous bridesmaids dresses!

Gen X Pro drove all the way from Seattle to be at the show! Professional DJs are hard to find, but these two are keepers! They dj-ed the event and did an outstanding job.

Pampered Chef is a great gift to any newly married couple! We also had a Macy’s rep there to help brides sign up for their bridal registry.

Jessica Wardle of Jessica Nicole Music is an award winning pianist who loves to play for weddings. She is pictured here with her husband.

Stephanie Sheasly gave tips and tricks about wedding day hair styles. Campell’s Spa gave away a 2 night’s stay at the resort!
